DALLAS (AP) -- Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki has moved into the top 20 on the NBA career scoring list.

Nowitzki moved into 20th on the list Monday night with seven points in the first quarter in a game against Boston.

That gave Nowitzki 23,335 points, one more than Hall of Famer Robert Parish had in 21 seasons, 14 with the Celtics. At No. 19 on the list is Boston's Kevin Garnett (23,719), who missed Monday's game for personal reasons.

Nowitzki, an All-Star who has played all 14 of his NBA seasons in Dallas, also had his 1,000th career block in the first quarter.

Dallas guard Jason Kidd got is 2,515th career steal, snapping a tie with Michael Jordan for second-most in the NBA. John Stockton is the career leader with 3,265.
